Jacques Pierre Levet

  • Founding Principal

Jacques Pierre Levet grew up on his family’s farm just outside New Orleans, surrounded by historic homes and structures that shaped his early appreciation for architecture. This deep connection to place and tradition influenced his understanding of how homes should not only be beautiful but also thoughtfully designed to enhance daily life. Initially pursuing a career in medicine, Jacques later followed his true passion, earning a graduate degree in architecture from the University of Notre Dame, where he focused his studies on American classicism, particularly Greek Revival.

He began his professional journey at Historical Concepts under the mentorship of Jim Strickland before serving as a project manager and designer with Stan Dixon, working on projects from Palm Beach to Michigan. Jacques also serves on the board of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art's Southeast Chapter and teaches for ICAA National at various universities and courses, sharing his expertise and passion for classical architecture with the next generation. While at D. Stanley Dixon, Jacques furthered his studies with the Attingham Trust, which provided an intensive study of the English country houses, deepening his understanding of classical architecture and design traditions.

Now, as a principal at Pierre McKell, Jacques draws on this rich foundation to design homes that are both personal and timeless—places that honor their surroundings and enrich daily living.
